Selling a Flow
The three steps
- Create the flow. The app clones a position for your coin and mints you the NFT. Nothing has moved yet — the fee right is still in your wallet.
- Hand the right over. One more transaction calls
registry.setCreator(coin, position). MotoSwap now pays the position, andisActive()turns true. Only you can do this, since it is the coin's current creator. - Price it. List the flow at a fixed price in ETH, with an expiry. See Buying for how a buyer sees it.
You can do all three in one sitting, or sit on step 1 indefinitely — an un-handed-over flow is inert and costs nothing.
Your pending fees are paid to you at the sale
A coin accrues creator fees continuously. When you sell a flow through Catflow, the sale claims every pending fee — ETH and MOTO both — and pays it to you, inside the sale transaction, less the claim fee.
So:
- You keep everything you earned up to the sale. You never have to race to claim before selling, and the buyer never walks off with fees you had already accrued.
- The buyer starts at zero. What they pay for is the flow from the purchase on. A listing prices only the fees still to come.
A sale settles exactly WETH and MOTO — everything a moto.fun coin pays today. If MotoSwap ever adds a third creator-fee asset, a Catflow sale will not settle it: that balance would stay in the vault and pass to the buyer with the NFT. Claim any such asset yourself before listing.
If you sell off-market instead — a plain transfer, or another marketplace — the pending balance travels with the NFT to the new holder. Claim first if you would rather have it. The app's listing flow makes this choice explicit rather than leaving it implicit.
Reprice without delisting
You can change a listed flow's price in place. There is no need to delist and relist, which would lose the listing's position and reset its fee snapshot.
Expiry and delisting
Every listing carries a mandatory expiry, so a flow never sits listed forever by accident.
After it passes, the listing is simply gone; the flow stays yours. delist() ends a listing
early.
Note that fee rates are snapshotted per listing: a listing locks in the buyer and seller rates that were current when you created it, as does each offer. See Fees.
Taking it out of Catpound
release(to) hands the fee right to any wallet you name and leaves the position with nothing. If
you would rather stop using Catflow entirely — hold the fees yourself, or sell somewhere else —
this is the exit.
release requires isActive(). Once MotoSwap has reassigned or disabled the coin, the position
no longer holds a right it can hand back, and release reverts.
Offers on your flow
Anyone can offer on your flow, listed or not. Offers are WETH, and no funds move until you accept. Accepting runs the same settlement as a sale: pending fees come to you, the buyer gets the NFT.
One thing to know: an offer you made yourself on your own flow survives your ownership. If you named a price and later bought the flow, the new owner (you) can still accept it. Withdraw your own offers when you list, so an old bid of yours does not sit there live.
