Buying a Flow

Buy in one transaction​

A listed flow has a fixed price in ETH. Buying it is a single transaction:

  1. Open the flow's page and click Buy.
  2. Your wallet shows one transaction — the price plus the 1% buyer fee. Confirm it.

The app sends the ETH inside the call and wraps it for you, so there is no token approval and no separate wrap step. Any overpayment comes back as WETH.

Under the hood the buy is bounded: you set a maxCost, and the contract reverts if the final cost would exceed it. That is what stops a listing from being changed under you mid-transaction.

What you receive​

The NFT, and with it the fee right from that block onward.

Your stream starts at zero. The sale claims every fee the coin had pending up to the sale and pays it to the seller, in the same transaction — so what you buy is the flow from the purchase on, not a balance that was already sitting there. You are never paying for fees the seller already earned.

Buying an active flow only​

buy reverts unless isActive() is true. If MotoSwap has taken the coin's fees back, or the creator never handed the right over, the flow cannot be bought at all. You cannot accidentally pay for a right that has already moved.

Offers​

You do not have to wait for a listing. You can make an offer on any flow — listed or not.

  • An offer records intent only; no funds leave your wallet until the owner accepts.
  • Offers are denominated in WETH, so making one needs a WETH balance and a one-time approval. The app wraps your ETH in one click if you don't hold WETH.
  • The owner accepts, or ignores it. You can withdraw your offer at any time.

If the owner accepts, the sale runs the same way a buy does: the NFT moves, the pending fees settle to the seller, and the fees go to the treasury and the seller. Your offer is bounded the same way a buy is — the accept reverts if the final cost would exceed what you offered.

Read-only first​

You can check everything before you spend: the price, the trailing fee history, the payback estimate, and whether the flow is active — all without connecting a wallet. See Contract addresses if you want to read the contract directly.
